Terms of Service

1. The service

FindFake tracks and fact-checks deepfakes and manipulated media in India, lets you submit media for checking, and (for subscribers) watches new synthetic media for your face and helps you request takedowns. Browsing the public feed needs no account.

2. Your account

• You must be 18 or older and give a real email address that you control. You must verify it before using account features.
• Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us at once if you think it has been misused.
• One person per account. Do not share accounts or sell access.

3. What you may and may not do

• Do not upload anything unlawful, including child sexual abuse material, or intimate images of anyone without their consent. We report such material to the authorities.
• Only submit media you have a right to submit. By submitting you allow us to store it, process it with the third-party platforms described in the Privacy Policy, review it, and (only if you choose "share with the hub") publish a summary of the result.
• Face watch is for your own face only. Do not enroll another person's face, or use the service to track, stalk or harass anyone.
• Do not attack, overload or scrape the service, bypass its limits, or try to access other people's data.
• Do not use FindFake results to defame anyone. Our verdicts are for information.

We may remove content, suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.

4. How accurate are the results?

• Fact-checks shown in the feed are written by independent fact-checkers, courts or government units. We link to them and label who said what. We do not vouch for their conclusions. Items marked "reported" are news coverage that no one has fact-checked.
• Automated detection of AI-made media is an estimate, not proof. It can be wrong in both directions. Every result you receive from us has been reviewed by a person, and it can still be wrong.
• Nothing on FindFake is legal advice. Takedown guides and letters are templates to help you; whether a platform or court acts on them is outside our control.
• We do not promise that a deepfake of you will be found, matched or removed.

5. Free and Pro

Most of FindFake is free. Pro adds face watch with match alerts and takedown help, and the daily email digest of people you follow. See the pricing page for the current list.

• Price: ₹200 for one month or ₹2,200 for twelve months, in Indian rupees.
• You pay by UPI to the QR code or UPI ID we send you on WhatsApp. We activate Pro once the payment is confirmed, usually within one working day.
• Pro does not renew automatically and we never debit your account. When the period ends the Pro features stop; your account and free features remain, and you can pay again to renew. Renewing early adds time to your current end date.
• Prices may change for future periods; the price in force when you pay applies to the period you pay for.
• Refunds follow the Refund Policy.

6. Our rights and yours

FindFake, its software, design and compiled database are ours or our licensors'. Fact-checks remain the property of their publishers and are shown as short summaries with links. You keep ownership of what you submit.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep FindFake running but do not guarantee it will always be available or error-free. We may change or end features; if we end a feature you paid for we will refund the unused part of that period.

8. Liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, FindFake is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from reliance on a result, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Ending your account

You can stop using FindFake at any time and delete your account yourself under Profile → Delete account (see the Privacy Policy for what is erased). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms; if we close a paid account without cause we refund the unused period.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please write to us first at contact@findfake.in so we can try to fix the problem. Any dispute not settled that way is subject to the courts in India that have jurisdiction.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies. Using FindFake after that means you accept the new version.
